Adopt An Orca

DEFEND THE FUTURE

Join Our Mission to Help Turn the Tide for Our Beloved Orcas!

In 2018, the world watched in heart-wrenching silence as Tallequah, a Southern Resident Orca, carried her deceased calf for 17 agonizing days. This poignant act spotlighted the dire straits these majestic beings are in, with their numbers plummeting to just 74 due to dwindling salmon populations, rampant pollution, and the looming climate crisis.

Yet, in the face of such adversity, there are glimmers of hope. Communities are mobilizing, environmental measures are taking root, and joyfully, Tallequah has welcomed two thriving calves since then. We’re at a crossroads, and with collective determination, we can ensure a brighter future for the SROs.

Beyond Adoption: Uniting Art and Storytelling

Sonata's Melody of Courage by A.C. HartOur symbolic adoptions are anything but average! Teaming up with whale experts and researchers, we’ve learned about each of the 74 unique whales and their traits. Then, we went the extra mile, enlisting local artist, A.C. Hart, to craft spirited watercolor portraits that truly bring our finned friends to life.

We didn’t stop there, our in-house author used these artworks as inspiration to weave engaging tales about each orca.
